With Niměřice Castle, located about 40 kilometers north of Prague, Via Habsburg has not only admitted a beautiful castle with a unique layout—whose building history dates back to the 14th century and where Bedřich Smetana composed his first opera in 1862—but also welcomed its first member in the Czech Republic.
Via Habsburg is proud to count Niměřice Castle among its members and to extend the Cultural Route into yet another European country with close ties to the history of the House of Habsburg.
